A digital camera that is endowed with a great zoom lens can be a great asset. Manufacturers now offer a range of cameras that come with what they call a megazoom - something that goes in optically to zoom in at least 10x. Not everyone really likes a megazoom. Serious amateurs with DSLR's for instance, think that a zoom that powerful is for lazy people. When they really need to go in close on the subject, they choose to walk closer. That's not really the way casual photographers tend to feel. When They are stuck at the back of an auditorium, and their child is up on the stage, there is pretty much nothing they appreciate as much as a camera with a powerful zoom. High Optical Zoom Digital Camera
Starting with the Fuji FinePix F80EXR, what you find in this camera that costs about 0, is a six megapixel sensor, a 27mm wide-angle lens, average lowlight shooting and an aggressive 10x zoom. The 3 inch LCD on the back is remarkably bright and visible even in sunlight, you get full resolution in burst mode with five shots in store, and you can shoot in low light conditions up to ISO 1600. Add to this the fact that this is a remarkably tiny camera, and you have a remarkably good bargain.

Up next on our comparison of digital cameras with super zooms comes the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS5. This camera comes in at slightly less than 0. The great thing about this super zoom camera is its remarkable lens - it starts at a 25mm and goes all the way to 12x zoom. For those who can't quite afford an SLR, this camera should be great, because it provides manual shooting modes in addition to semi- manual and fully automatic. It doesn't come with rechargeable batteries like the other two models though - you need to carry a supply of AA batteries, good for 130 shots. This camera comes with a very nice 28mm wide-angle lens as well.
And finally, at the top of our list in our comparison of digital cameras with great zoom comes the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V. It's the most expensive of all the cameras in this round up - at 0. For the money, you get GPS, superfast performance, spectacular lowlight pictures, a 10 megapixel sensor, the widest wideangle lens of any camera in this round up at 25mm, and a very serviceable 10x zoom. For the best all round performance, the Sony takes the crown.
